I presented my NSF EPSCoR-funded wildfire monitoring research at the Annual Harnessing the Data Revolution for Fire Science (HDRFS) Conference at UNLV my first research conference. I shared my work alongside PhD and postdoctoral researchers, and had the drone system on display next to my poster so attendees could interact with it directly.
I was proud to be featured in the UNLV College of Engineering Student Spotlight for the hard work I’ve put into my journey as an engineering student. I started in College Algebra and slowly worked my way up through Calculus, eventually completing Calculus III and Differential Equations. It wasn’t easy I struggled at first—but I stayed disciplined and committed to improving. Over time, those habits helped me succeed in my classes, land an internship at NV Energy, become a peer mentor, and join a research lab working on drones and robotics. Being recognized in the spotlight means a lot to me because it shows how far I’ve come through effort and persistence.
